Water Restriction Exemptions
The following are allowed at any time on any day of the week:
- Watering with a hand-held hose or a refillable container
- Watering trees with a Treegator®, soaker hose or automatic tree bubbler
- Watering vegetable gardens with a soaker hose
- Watering to protect the health, safety, or welfare of the public
- Watering with drip irrigation on vegetable gardens or the drip line of a tree canopy
- Using reclaimed or auxiliary water
- Irrigating athletic fields
- Watering plant material at a commercial nursery
- Watering in or commercially applied herbicide or pesticide
In limited situations, a variance from water restrictions may be granted. All variance requests may be requested by calling 512-327-2330. Variances are granted on a case-by-case basis and applicants must continue to follow current watering restrictions until the variance request is approved.
